RF System Engineer (m/f/x)

Tasks:
- Develop and create advanced RF component characterization systems based on the NI platform for conductive and over the air characterization, e.g. wide-band S-parameter measurements below 6 GHz and mmWave frequency range
- Develop and implement RF system calibration procedures including de-embedding w/ wideband signals
- RF metrology: Develop accuracy and uncertainty estimations
- Develop system level models of the RF test system for performance predictions
- RF system simulation (using e.g. AWR) and circuit simulation (using e.g. SPICE)
- Field simulations (e.g. CST, AWR or equivalent)
- Collaboration with the researchers and development engineers within and outside of NI
- Expected travel: 10 – 20%
Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in RF system design and simulations
- Experience in using standard RF lab equipment such as VSG, SA, VSA, VNA
- RF measurement technology (sources, spectrum and vector signal analysis, vector network analysis)
- Basic understanding of operations and specifications of RF components (filters, couplers, circulators, switches, amplifiers, mixers)
- Experience with signal processing, e.g. FFT, IFFT, FIR, IIR filers, decimation
- Experience with a RF simulator and understanding RF time and frequency domain simulation techniques
- Background in Digital Communication principals beneficial
